DESCRIPTION:Boots on the Boulevard is the kickoff for the 79th Will Rogers Stampede PRCA Rodeo! Located in Downtown Claremore\, there will be fun rodeo themed activities for the whole family as well as food trucks.  The Downtown area will be shutdown to traffic to fully utilize the space and accommodate all the fun happenings!  Live music with street dancing; it’s a great way to celebrate our rodeo tradition!  Put on your boots – or your walking shoes – and join us for this event. This event is fun for the entire family and as always\, admission is free. Watch as the different breeds compete for the top spot in their individual category. As these breeds compete\, cheer as your favorites strut their stuff vying for the coveted Best in Show title.  There are also many other prestige awards! \nAbout the Claremore Kennel Club \nThe Claremore Kennel Club is a not-for-profit group of dog owners interested in promoting the sport of purebred dogs. Their objective is to promote the usefulness of all dogs (purebred or mixed breeds) in today’s society. Claremore Kennel Club conducts All Breed dog shows in accordance with the rules of the American Kennel Club.  They also promote cooperation and good sportsmanship among members in the training and exhibition. \nThe Claremore Kennel Club formed in 1983. The club supports the community by teaching classes in obedience\, puppy kindergarten\, and Conformation. DESCRIPTION:Will Rogers Days\, Indigenous Heritage Day and National Native American Heritage Month begins the first Saturday of November. \nThe Indian Women’s Pocahontas Club has been celebrating Will’s birthday since the Will Rogers Memorial Museum was opened in 1938. \nThe Ceremony will begin at the Rotunda with Club members dressed in their Cherokee Tear dresses and red Pocahontas Club shawls around the bronze statue of Will Rogers\, as they recite their Club Collect and place a basket of fall foliage at the foot of the statue. \n  \nThe Club members will proceed to the Tomb for the Wreath Laying Ceremony\, led by the Cherokee Nation Veteran Color Guard. \nThere will be a program in the Will Rogers Theater following the Wreath Laying Ceremony with guest speakers Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin\, Jr.\, Cherokee Nation Tribal Councilman for District 14\, Kevin Easley\, Jr. and special entertainment by Jana Jae “Queen of Fiddle”\, member of the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame and the National Fiddler Hall of Fame. \nIn addition\, there will be a “Hat Contest” at the close of the program\, in honor of Will’s wife\, Betty Blake Rogers.  Everyone is welcome to participate. \nFollowing the entertainment will be Will’s favorite lunch\, navy beans\, cornbread and pie. \nJoin us at the Will Rogers Day Parade at 3:00 p.m. and later at the Birthday Party at the Will Rogers Memorial. \nThank you to the Cherokee Nation and the Oklahoma Arts Council and National Endowment for the Arts for making this event possible. \nThis project was supported in part by the Oklahoma Arts Council\, which receives support from the State of Oklahoma and the National Endowment for the Arts. \n

DESCRIPTION:The Pumpkin Festival at Shepherd’s Cross is a fun event for the entire family.  Staring the last weekend in September 23rd\, this festival will run through the first weekend of November 8th.  The festival is open to the public Tuesday – Saturday from 9:00 am – 6:30 pm. \nEnjoy the indoor and outdoor activities and take a stroll through the pumpkin patch.  Pumpkins can be purchased and are priced for every budget.  There will be over 60 activities including a hay bale maze\, Farm Animal Petting Zoo\, and yard games. \nThe Pumpkin Festival is closed on Sundays and Monday with the exception of Monday October 27th \nPackages available that range from free to $15.50 per person.  Most activities on site are free but donations are greatly appreciated. \nFor a list of packages and all activities\, please visit https://shepherdscross.com/pumpkin-festival.html
