Blue Whale Grand Opening & Rt 66 Blue Whale Run
Come celebrate the much-awaited grand opening of the Blue Whale in Catoosa. Since closing in September 2025, the Blue Whale has undergone renovations to add a new visitor center, new restrooms, expanded parking, improved lighting, landscaping, walkways, a playground and a fresh coat of paint for the whale.
Come celebrate 100 years of Route 66 at the Blue Whale on May 30, 2026. The day’s activities include a 5K and fun run, arts and crafts, food vendors, a grand opening ceremony with ribbon cutting and live music. Don’t miss this historic event!
Blue Whale Grand Opening Schedule of Events:
8:00am: RT 66 Blue Whale Run (5K and fun run)
12:00pm: Kickoff with crafts, art and food vendors
2:00pm: Remarks and ribbon cutting
4:00pm: Live music
